Donald Trump impeached for second time in historic vote
On Wednesday 6th January, thousands of violent protesters angered by the presidential election result forced their way into the Capitol building in Washington D.C. This event shocked the world and many say that Donald Trump is to blame.

Just hours before the protests, Trump held a rally outside the White House speaking openly about how he feels that the election was stolen from him. Protestors have told news organisations that they felt inspired by Trump to start the protests and both representatives from the Democrats and Republicans have said they hold Trump solely to blame for the events which took place.
After facing lots of criticism for his behaviour, and his failure to condemn the actions of his supporters, the US House of Representatives voted to impeach Donald Trump for “incitement of insurrection”. This means that they believe Trump actively encouraged a revolt against authority or an established government. He is the first president in history to be impeached for a second time. The trial will not happen until after the inauguration of Joe Biden on 20th January.
